Really stumped on the What Is All of This puzzle! I’ve read all the hints that people have posted here and unfortunately still don’t get it. I’ve tried both moon and letters and got positive responses, but frankly not sure why. Any hints would be much appreciated!

how do i start puzzle 42?? theres no page for it or anything, unless its that coded message on the copyright page? I need help please

Happy Old Year!

In 42 I’ve been stuck for months on the ones and zeroes terminal.

Any starter tips to spot the pattern? I’ve tried quite a few! :)

Thank you for a great puzzling experience!

I think I’m also over complicating things! I got ELSROGHE after using the fractions to get letters from the words on the pillars but not sure what to do from here. I’ve been trying to use ciphers but no luck. Anyone have any hints?

On July 8, 2021 at 3:50PM EST JMerr responded to Squadalaah:

Thanks. I was definitely overcomplicating things. Done with #42!

On July 7, 2021 at 9:33AM EST Squadalaah responded to JMerr:

The realization that helped me the most was noticing that the numbers to the right of the slash are each unique and include 1 through 8, which means using them for ordering is probably a safe bet.. Then all that leaves is what do the numbers to the left of the slash indicate?

Other possibly helpful observations, in order of spoilage:

Everything you need to solve the puzzle is on the page.

Each number pair takes the place of a name, so they're definitely linked.

You're right to assume that the mirroring is important.

The song, while thematically relevant, wasn't actually useful to me.

On July 6, 2021 at 3:20PM EST JMerr responded to ccc:

I'm also stuck here. I've tried indexing and grouping but I'm still getting nonsense. What am I missing?

On June 23, 2021 at 8:06PM EST ccc responded to AJUG:

From the song you get the answer, "The answer is it's all a facade" Now just apply some of the skills learned in the training theorems

On May 27, 2021 at 11:23PM EST AJUG wrote:

Okay so I'm really stuck on the facade puzzle. I know the song is from the Jekyll and Hyde musical, and I think the "pillars of society" line has something to do with the answer. But I can't find any real correlation between the names and the numbers, even recognizing that the negative image is a mirror. Any pointers?

Sure!

Enter a guess for the 42 solution. What do you see?

Can you provide a hint on what to look for to get to the page with the puzzle on it?

Howdy -- I just filled a spreadsheet with fields to see if the calendar ordering would reveal anything . . . only to join the forum here and read that the drag-and-order function is now disabled . So I completed the steps to make box 42 visible on my laptop, and I'm similarly stumped. I'll be grateful for nudges to a next step. many thanks!

AH....made progress toward a page with a puzzle on it . . .

Hi all. I've solved all of the theorems, seen the box for puzzle 42 pop up, and noticed the reorganization of the puzzles by date. However, I'm not sure how to proceed from here in order to get to the additional layers of this puzzle? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So you're on the right track, the letter-sounds DO combine to make a word

It's not an obvious word . Consider how much easier the puzzle would be if all the characters spoke a "common language" . . .

ditto . . . I'm try to make words out of the letter-sounds

no luck yet! but that's gotta be the path

On July 18, 2021 at 6:16PM EST ZombieTaco27 responded to EMC2:

Thanks, I got there and am now working on the language bit i got all of the letters in their spots but i'm unsure of the next step.

Interestingly, I just tried it again and it seems as though M removed the ordering step. You used to have to order the theorem cards based on the dates in the book, but now it immediately unlocks the card for 42 as soon as you enter the solutions for all the other theorems. You see that card on the hints and solutions page, right? If so you're good to go with continuing onto the rest of 42.

I always thought the ordering thing was a bit clunky anyway ;)

On July 18, 2021 at 4:42PM EST EMC2 responded to ZombieTaco27:

Once you solve all 41 theorems from the book by entering the solutions online, it should allow you to click and drag to reorder the theorems cards. You'll just need to find the correct order to put them in to proceed with 42

ok, I'm super confused. people are talking about moving things around on the website and I cant do that at all. can someone help me with just the very first step?

I managed to get it. Once you have them all in their place, you need not use only your mind, perhaps a little south should do the trick
