A New Endeavor

You missed me, right?

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m the founder of a badass secret society that boldly engages with the top issues of our day, confronts the paradoxes of what it means to be human, and fights crime. Also, puzzles.

For the fans out there who already know me: A lot’s changed since the end of 2011 when we last chatted. Space robots landed on a moving comet, we confirmed a lot about the Higgs boson, and Britain isn’t even part of Europe anymore. I may have had a hand in some of those world events, but I won’t say which.

While on sabbatical, I’ve been busy! I’ve traveled all over the world advising top scientists on their research, learned two new languages and written three bestselling books (under pseudonyms—can you guess which New York Times bestsellers are actually me?). Not to mention top-secret missions for agencies I can’t name. And, of course, even M needs some “me time.”

In addition to hanging out with my cat Schrödinger, taking hikes and playing video games, I have a passion for word games. I like them all, from Words With Friends and Bananagrams to Ruzzle and Quiddler. My favorite thing is sipping fine whiskey with my lackeys N and P in my mountain cabin while playing word games. I’m sure you’d love an invite to join us around the Scrabble board, but would you be able to keep up?

Speaking of recreation, my lackeys and I have been working on a new project. Keep your eyes out; you’re gonna want in on this. Solve this Theorem if you want to stay in the loop.

I'm M, and I'll be your guide. I founded The Master Theorem years ago as a Members-only society of puzzle-solvers, but anyone with the determination to join us can earn Membership by submitting the solution to this or any week's puzzle, called a Theorem. The solution will be in the form of a word or a phrase. As a Member, you'll have the chance to search for hidden Seals throughout the website and compete with other Members by earning points for all of your efforts.
